Nursery Diary

Friday 28th October – Friday 4th November

In Literacy, both classes will be focusing on Rhyme, leading up to World Nursery Rhyme Week from 7th-11th November. We will be reading rhyming stories, poems and songs as well as looking at traditional nursery rhymes.

In SEAL (Stages of Early Arithmetical Learning) we will be focusing on counting within 10, starting and stopping at different points.
Both classes will be beginning to look at time in maths, linking daily events in our lives and seasonal changes to the changing of the clocks. Some children in the North Nursery have been interested in weighing, so they will have opportunities to investigate this through play.

Our Health and Wellbeing focus across the nursery will be on understanding positive aspects of friendship, and knowing who they can go to for help or support. We will look at this through a Circle Time meeting with our key group.

On Tuesday, Neil from Rugby Tots is coming to give us a taster session in the gym hall. Look out for more about this in your child’s Learning Journal.

Our Science focus is on exploring the sky, identofying the sun, moon and starts and linking this to our time focus in maths.

* Our first Parents’ Group meeting will take place this Friday morning in the Parents’ Room at 9am. All welcome!
