Nursery Diary

Friday 22nd – Thursday 28th September

In Literacy we will be continuing our focus on vocabulary. Our Word of the Week is ‘clean’ and we will be using this word in all areas of the nursery. We are trying to establish good hygiene routines with the children. We will also be exploring specific words from the story book ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. The words we will be exploring are ‘silent’ and ‘brave’.

Our Maths focus this week will continue to be on exploring the concepts of size and amount through our play experiences. We will explore capacity and measurement, as well as linking this to numbers.

In Health and Wellbeing, we will continuing to look at health and hygiene. We will be talking about when and how to wash our hands, and we will also be continuing our tooth brushing programme. If you do not wish your child to take part in tooth brushing, please let us know.

Our wider focus this week will be on Harvest, and we will be learning a harvest song to sing at the whole school assembly on Friday. We will be reading ‘The Little Red Hen’ and learning about the different evidence that can help us to learn about the world around us.
*Thank you for your logo competition entries. Mrs MacGregor is not in school this week but will be judging them on her return.
