Friday 12th – Thursday 18th January
In literacy this week we will be reading traditional and favourite tales. We have chosen this focus as we have noticed lots of children choosing to dress up in robes and make crowns, as well as showing an interest in reading traditional tales. The children will be encouraged to re-enact these stories in their play, using props and taking on the roles of the characters.
Our maths focus will be on sorting. We will be exploring a range of shapes and objects that we can collect, sort and be creative with. This is an important stage in understanding shape.
In Health and Wellbeing, we will be thinking about friendship, caring, sharing, fairness and equality as we welcome our new friends in to nursery. We will do this through discussion as we play.
Our Social Studies focus will be on making choices in our play. We will be supporting each other in choosing where we work, how we work and who we work with across the nursery. this is important for encouraging independent working and thinking, as well as developing social skills and enquiry learning.
*Maintenance work on our ceilings is ongoing for the time being. Thank you for your continued support and understanding and please continue to bear with us!
