Nursery Diary

Friday 18th – Thursday 25th January

Our traditional tales have been very popular! This will continue to be our literacy focus, alongside some Scots language stories as we celebrate Robert Burns’ birthday on Thursday.
Our maths focus will continue to be on sorting. We will be exploring a range of shapes and objects that we can collect, sort and be creative with. This is an important stage in understanding shape.
In Health and Wellbeing, we will be thinking about friendship, caring, sharing, fairness and equality our new friends settle in to nursery. We will do this through discussion as we play.
Our Social Studies focus continue to be on making choices in our play. We will be supporting each other in choosing where we work, how we work and who we work with across the nursery. This is important for encouraging independent working and thinking, as well as developing social skills and enquiry learning.
To celebrate Robert Burns’ birthday on Thursday, we will be eating traditional Scottish foods, reading some stories and poems in Scots, singing some Scottish songs and dressing up in tartan.
*Maintenance work on our ceilings is ongoing for the time being. Thank you for your continued support and understanding and please continue to bear with us!
