P7 Practical Matters

Mr Lynch and I are having a great time so far this session, and we’d like to thank everyone in P7 for coming in to the new year with such good attitudes and so ready to work and learn!

Some practical matters to share and consider…

  • PE is currently on Wednesdays and it’s great that so many of the children arrive in their outdoor kit. A change of shoes is something which will be more important as the months go on and we head in to wetter weather.
If the children arrive in school with wet shoes in the rain it is much nicer for them to have something dry to change in to rather than sit wet all morning. Please send alternative footwear with them for this purpose each day.
  • Water bottles – most children have one with them but please check in with your child whether they need a replacement in case it’s been lost or damaged; this can happen sometimes!
  • Snacks – a lot of pupils are trying to eat lunch for snack! Can you please clarify with them which item (one is enough) from their lunchbox should be their 10.45 snack!?
  • Home Learning – a small number of P7s are not managing to complete and return their home learning in time. Parents of children in P7 can even ask them to to the “counting off the days” thing I do to explain how long they have! If this becomes a habit we will have to communicate individually with you and find out what more we can do to support successful reading work this term
