Happy Christmas everyone, and here’s something to maybe make you smile over the break!
We are trying very hard to learn to read and write our tricky words.
They are tricky because
- there are sounds that you hear but you don’t use to spell them
- there are sounds you can’t hear but that you have to remember to write down
These are the new tricky words we are learning this term:
eight, learn, money, people, four, again, write, great, move, school, before, because, story, does, done
Here is a list of the all tricky words we have learned since primary 1. We are trying hard to spell these words correctly when we are writing stories.
Remember Santa is always particularly impressed if you spell these words correctly in your letters.
Here are a few more photos from our Queensferry Crossing last week.
P2HM picked out these pictures to share with you. They came up with the captions too.
High five for the new Queensferry Crossing!
This man looks after all the bridges in Scotland. He makes sure the bridges are safe.
This bridge is so amazing!
Here we are walking on the new bridge. We are glad that we got to walk the bridge.
We walked on the hard shoulder. The hard shoulder is for cars that have broken down. Oops did you spot that we were walking the wrong way.
Here are a few more….
Today was very exciting for P2H as we got to walk over the new Queensferry Crossing. Some of our favourite parts were…
-taking pictures on the bridge
-learning about the bridge and asking the engineers questions
-the great view of Queensferry and the Forth
-seeing the other two bridges too!
Miss Hendry and P2H
I hope you all had a lovely summer. P2 have settled in so quickly that the holidays feel like a lifetime ago and I can’t believe it has been a whole year since they were starting as P1s.
We are all very impressed with how smart all the children are, that they remember their school routines and are all ready for a whole new year of learning.
The weather is very changeable at the moment so please remember to pack a raincoat in your child’s bag if they aren’t wearing one to school at the moment.
Here our plan for our first term.
Take a look at what we will be learning!
